The connection cube
The connection cube is a large white cube with four pyramid shaped
windows that lead into an interior round hollow, all of which
have the same centre point. The hole in the bottom of the
cube connects to the cave allowing acoustic and light effects.
The cubes corners are orientated to the points of the compass
and bent to the inclination of the Earths magnetic field.
In the centre of the top resides the symbolic sun surrounded
by different phases of the moon.
All four sides have place holders for six disc images each of
which depict connections and relationships in a visual way. To
further enhance the relationship aspect of the work Dieter has
asked friends and neighbours to contribute designs for the discs.
This process in itself has created further discussions and new
ideas.

This magic square reads the same up and
down or side to side. It is of pre-Christian origin having
been found written on a wall excavated at Pompeii buried about
79AD before Christians had abandoned Greek for Latin.
Modern thought is that it comes from the cult of Mithras, which
was once a rival to the early Christian cult. Mithras was a
type of Sun god whose origins lie in Persia. His worship spread
all over the Roman Empire.
The letters of the square can be written as a crossed (alpha)
paternoster (omega). Which translates as "Alpha our father
omega", which was adopted by Christians as the start of
the Lords Prayer with alpha the start and omega the end. If
this is done within the magic square it becomes a swastica.
All these constructions were used in magic and as talismans
against evil as described in the early grimoires (books of
magic). In the grimoir "The Key of Solomon", the
square is written in Hebrew and can be linked to the Kabbalah.
Clockwise - sunwise - deasil - good. Anticlockwise - moonwise
- widdershins - evil.
As I am fascinated by all these things I was contemplating
the square and began playing with its arrangement as a wheel.
The wheel of being was created, being a disc which resembles
a Hindu mandala in Latin!? As a follower of Krishna told me,
this is a relic of the Vedic Empire with its Hindu philosophy. Brahma,
the fire of Creation, spreading out through the making or destroying
of Siva to the endless wheel of existence).
Note also the Tau cross, "T", flanked by (alpha)
(omega) as in many crucifixion depictions. The Tau cross was
the shape to which a sacrificial perfect man was tied
at midsummer in the Druidic religion (R Graves - The White
Goddess).
Things to see in the wheel
going clockwise from the top:
