Sun and Water,
without these there would be no life on Earth. Nature
is survival. Human industrialization destroys nature. We
can only win this battle when we have peace with nature, and
stop the destruction; otherwise, nature fights back. We
are intelligent enough to conserve our quality of life, make
peace with nature, and overcome poverty and hunger. Believe
in the future of our children.
Eagle Farm is a 75 hectare family breakfast
holiday accommodation and proposed exhibition centre bordering
both Tyagarah Nature Reserve and the Tyagarah Airstrip, just
ten minutes drive north of Byron Bay on the New South Wales
North Coast. Eagle
Farm is currently exploring for establishing an Ecology Centre
demonstrating innovative domestic solar house designs and hosting
other research projects including a proposed fossil-free demonstration
of “energy farming”.
New technology from Eagle Farm will provide
significantly cheaper photovoltaic panels (solar cells),
which can be used for solar roof construction, for both domestic
use and energy farming. About 150 square meters of
panels are required for each house, and 10 times that for
energy farming; however, with energy farming this provides
the additional benefit of large shaded areas for greenhouse
agriculture.
Eagle Farm solar house design integrates
solar energy into home, not only generating hot water for
family needs, but also purifying water for both water tanks
and swimming pools as a by-product. Excess power generated
can be sold back into the grid to generate additional income,
as well as contribute to the community.
As the family farming of the past becomes
transformed by the efficiency of scale of agricultural industrialization,
the hope is that energy farming will fill this void and provide
an alternative to farmers, particularly in the Northern Rivers
region of New South Wales. We understand that today Eagle
Farm is the perfect place to bring these existing technologies
of the future to normal people, so that tomorrow this technology
will be normal.
