Business Ethics:
To help people design & create
sustainable healthy wealthy & wise communities
Eco Centro
International Eco and Education Centre
for Sustainable Cities Farms & Schools
Project Outline:
The object of Eco Centro is to set up an Eco Education site
where the general public, tourists, students and farmers can
visit to see practical living examples for sustainable cities,
farms and schools.
Permaculture will be the design system used to integrate sustainable
Water, Land and Energy systems and technology.
Water:
Eco Centro will demonstrate systems for capture and reuse of
water, integrated into aquatic and re use systems for growing
food and fibre. Eco Centro will demonstrate how household’s
farms and schools can maximise the efficient and sustainable
use of water for growing food and fibre.
Land/Food:
For cities Eco Centro will demonstrate how to grow vegetable,
fruit, poultry and fish intensively in cities. Food miles
will also be drastically reduced meaning far less carbon
into the atmosphere! Growing food in the cities will
relieve agricultural land for growing tree food.
For Farms Eco Centro will demonstrate systems for growing crops
to efficiently use water, land and organic fertilisers to produce
tree food and fibre. Industrial hemp is a key crop for
farmers because it can provide raw materials for bio plastics,
paper, clothing fibre and myriad of building products. Hemp
will be the basis for many rural communities to regenerate
farm income and supply employment for regional communities
via eco industries.
Energy:
Carbon and methane are the two worst gases producing global
warming! Eco centro will feature solar/wind technology
coupled to energy storage systems capable of providing base
load energy. The site will not be connected to the
grid for receiving energy but will generate excess
energy capable of selling unused power back to the grid during
peak load times demonstrating how solar/wind technology can
supply base load electricity at a profit!
I hope the Byron City Council has the wisdom and foresight
to support this very important eco development. The Byron
region has the capacity to become the premier Eco tourist and
education destination for Australia, it just needs some courage,
vision and finance to make it happen. We face the prospect
of change or perish; I hope we choose the former.
Yours sincerely
