Re: Proposed building of a “tower” and double
garage for emergency vehicles and equipment
The Byron Bay Gliding Club Inc herewith would like to express
its support for the proposed building of the “control
tower” with viewing decks.
We have been operating at the Tyagarah Airfield for over
ten years now, five from the “Blue Hangar” building
and believe it would be an excellent improvement for the
safety of the strip.
There have been incidents and accidents in the past where
a “control tower” would have been of great advantage
in coordinating rescue efforts.
There is no focal point of
the airfield at the moment, and the tower with its proposed
double garage to house emergency vehicles and equipment underneath
would be perfect for that.
