Byron
Bay residents are most active in the worldwide peace movement – and each year, this activity culminates in
a colourful community festival of peace on the United Nation’s
International Day of Peace in September of every year.
Business combined with Byron’s famous alternative culture
has produced this wonderful peace celebration where the community
has retained full control of the event in a true democratic
fashion - following in the footsteps of Byron’s Real
Democracy movement.
